The gang…is not the gang and maybe it’s all a dream?
We toyed with the idea of skipping this one altogether but we are too much of a completist bunch in these parts. In lieu of discussing the plot of the show, other things that happen are: Greg brings Kelly a Coke, Brittany attempts to make “Positivity Sandwiches” to somehow deflect from Kelly losing her mind about having watched this episode four times. Once the analogy of this being a school play production was set, it helped the discussion be a little less harsh. Some characters are giving, slaying, eating the scenery, others don’t want to be there and still others got a different memo. HODGINS is an alcoholic, belligerent writer, Brennan dresses like an accountant, Booth wears a terrible hat and humps too enthusiastically – does it give you the “ick”?, Daisy & Angela are clueless, Sweets is a talented musician, Clark is a rapper channeling Usher named C-Sync, and Fischer is…….. I forget what his character is. Wink emoji.

On the show, the remains of a missing wine critic are found in a fitting resting place and the suspects are close to home and close-knit. Booth and Brennan face an interesting dilemma that tests their friendship and is particularly trying for Booth.
This penultimate offering for the season is nothing short of confounding. Season Four has been a real treat lately, eh?

It’s tax season again so our release schedule is even more wonky than usual. Here is one that we had fun talking about but have some questions for the writer.
Booth and Brennan go back to school to suss out the cause of death for a frat brother who had dubious relationships on campus. We meet some students who’s school seems to be hanging on by a thread in more ways than one. Brittany can’t get over the mature student program and Kelly reminds us that she was a randy in high school.

This one is really funny.
Brittany can’t get a word in edgewise as Kelly recaps most of this ep while laughing and playing YouTube videos. It's what friendship is all about, tolerating the other person’s foibles.
The gang is at a colleague’s funeral and Brennan discovers foul play that sends everyone into stealth mode while trying to solve a Knives Out mystery. There are also elements of an eighties spoof where no loose end is left untied. Brennan/Emily Deschanel is a wonderful straight man to the antics that ensue.

We’re back, back, back again! Brittany and Kelly are happy to be back at it and especially happy to talk about this episode. Season four is finally hitting its stride and we are happy to see some movement with our beloved regulars!
Everything is coming up Sweets in this one as we realize the main plot line is completely peripheral and irrelevant to the more important issue: Who is going to start a spread sheet with all of Sweets’ life details? The team has to handle the case of a well travelled skull/skalle whose story has hard core twists and turns involving suspects with questionable taste in music. Gordon Wyatt pops in for a visit and to shake things up with the crew before he heads off to chef school.

Season Four continues to confound! All these episodes have tonal shifts and random plot lines that have no bearing on character development…especially between Booth and Brennan! Kelly hopes this changes soon.
Tamara Taylor wins all the awards in this one, she is giving us an acting tour de force deserving of an Emmy. Too bad the plot is oppressed by a story line about Angela that leaves us wanting. The gang is given a wild case that hits close to home for Cam and Brennan takes a back seat while Booth and Cam get to work. It never ceases to amaze what people do for love and Cam begins a new and completely radical chapter in her life.
